Anniversary Staycation

I just enjoyed the best weekend in my own town of Dallas. Steven surpised me for my birthday/anniversary gift by completely planning a staycation (...a vacation where you stay in your own city). It was so nice to just go with the flow and not have to plan a thing. We started out at the Rosewood Mansion at Turtle Creek. Fancy, FANCY!

The evening started off with complimentary chocolate covered strawberries! We then headed to dinner at Preston's Steakhouse at Preston and Northwest Highway. I have never noticed this place, but we will definitely be back. It was delicious. We then headed to see Date Night with Tina Fey and Steve Carrell.
IT. Was. Hilarious! We really enjoyed the movie.

We got to sleep in on Saturday morning, then headed to brunch at my favorite spot: Taverna.

We met up with my sister, Michelle, for shopping at Northpark. Checked in to our new hotel: Hotel ZaZa only to find we had been upgraded to a concept suite! Yipee! The cool think about Hotel ZaZa is that they have 25 suites, each with a different theme. We were excited to see what theme we ended up with.

Out of Africa! It was a really neat room with animal heads, cool art and a rain shower!

We took a nice nap, then headed out for dinner again. The fabulous weekend was topped off with a massage at the hotel then off to lunch to see The Buddy.

It was all heavenly and much appreciated! I need to give a big shout out to Mimi  and Pop for keeping the Buddy. Thanks, guys! All in all it was a fabulous way to celebrate 5 fabulous years!
