The second installment of the bad luck vacation

Since we were already in Rochester, NY we decided to go on to Niagara Falls. This is a pretty cool place! it is a total natural wonder and Steven was excited to go. We filled up two cars and headed that way. We had BEAUTIFUL weather the entire way there and planned on taking the Maid of the Mist (boat ride as seen on Bruce Almighty). We parked the car, got the ice chest, situated all the little cousins and walked over to the park at the falls. It was loud from all the rushing water and soooo neat to see! we started down to get a closer look and it started to rain! Boy did the heavens open! So we started back towards the gift shop where there was shelter. After getting situated there we waited for it to pass. After about 5 minutes it looked a lot better, so we started out again towards the rail of the falls. We were there long enough to take a couple of pictures and then the lightening and boisterous thunder was amazing! It was cold, windy, and the thunder was echoing off of the falls to sound like thunder I have never heard before. Defeated, we walked back to our shelter, sat under the awning and prepared sandwiches for lunch. then we got back in the car and drove home. Blah
