The Fray, A road trip, major milestone, and a hole punch

Last Friday night my sister, Steven and I went to see The Fray in concert. It was a good show with great singing. I have been a fan of the Fray for 4 years now and last time we saw them they were opening for Hootie and The Blowfish. I loved their first album, while my sister loved the second one. We were both pleased as they equally played songs from each. It was really hot, but a fun night!

We then set out for Oklahoma first thing Saturday morning in order to see Lala and Grandaddy and to celebrate our little cousin's 5th birthday. Somehow after all of the stops we made, it took us a full 7 hours! HA.

Our first stop, once we made it into town, was my mother's antique mall. She has an entire craft room behind her register area that is so fun to create in. It is literally like being inside of a craft store. Mom and I had fun planning out some things for Cohen's bug party, while Dad played with Cohen.

Later that afternoon, we were visiting some friends and their cute maltese next door to my mom's store. Cohen was so excited and was trying to take some steps. You see he has been standing on his own and walking along things for weeks, but he just wouldn't take a step. Saturday, July 25th, he decided it was time! The funny thing is that he walks like frankenstein. Arms straight out and locked legs. He is getting more brave now that we are home and he has had some practice. At first it was more of a step as he was falling. Here is some video of him.

My little cousin turned 5 on Sunday with a My Little Pony party at the local gymnastics gym. Boy did that bring back memories! Even the smell was exactly as I remembered it. Cohen loved it because he could fall all over the mats and it didn't hurt.

From the moment that I took my shoes off and stepped foot onto the blue mats I was itching to tumble. You see to me tumbling is like riding a bike. Once you learn, you never forget. I wasn't sure that my body would remember though. So I quietly attempted a backhandspring on the trampoline and thought I ripped my insides out! I landed and quickly said a prayer of thanks for not breaking my neck! After that initial try, it felt like I was 12 again. I went on to do a standing back on the tumble track and some more round off backhandsprings. It was so much fun!

Until Monday morning. My stomach muscles were so sore, I almost couldn't use the table top hole punch at work! HAHA! No wonder I was in such good shape as a kid! Tumbling is the best full body workout. I used muscles I have literally not seen in 10 years! By monday afternoon, I was moving a long alot better.
